




Jackson Hole WY is one of the most beautiful fly fishing destinations in the world, it is home to our very own unique sub-species of trout, the Snake River Fine-spotted Cutthroat trout. Jackson Hole is also centrally located in the heart of trout country. Within two hours of Jackson Hole is the most diverse fly fishing region in the world for trout. You can fish freestone rivers, spring creeks, alpine lakes and streams. Accessible rivers and lakes and remote lightly fished locations for the adventurous are all available.

Gros Ventre River
Pronounced “Grovont”, this river is a classic freestone fishery. The Gros Ventre starts high up in the Gros Ventre mountains and flows into the Snake around the Bar BC Ranch. There are two large lakes, Upper and Lower Slide lakes that provide water storage for irrigation purposes. The “GV” fishes best after run-off to the first couple weeks of August or until irrigation users run the river dry around the town of Kelly, WY.

Hoback River
The Hoback, another Snake River Tributary, is a popular free-stone fishery only 15 miles south of Jackson on HWY 89/191. The majority of the river runs through Bridger-Teton National Forest, one of the largest National Forests in the United States, which offers plenty of public access. The Hoback offers one of the most predictable and heaviest Salmonfly hatches in the valley.

Flat Creek
The local trophy fishery, Flat Creek tests even the most skilled fisherman. Flat Creek’s Cuttys are some of the snottiest, pickiest, and toughest fish to fool. Long tippets, small flies, and stalking techniques are the name of the game if one wants to hook up with one of these pigs. Fishing is permitted to flies only.

Jenny, Leigh and String Lakes
This lake complex is located in Grand Teton National Park. Jenny and Leigh lakes are connected by a small water way called String Lake. Fishing is best immediately have ice off and early summer and fall. Black Flying Ants, Callibaetis, and Midges produce the majority of dry fly action. Sub-surface streamers, nymphs and leeches can catch some fish during the heat of the summer.
